Top results in Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint for the students of Zlatarski International School of Sofia
We are once again celebrating the excellent results in the Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint exams – external exams graded in Cambridge that the 8th grade students of Zlatarski International School take at school every year. 27 students of Zlatarski School achieved full marks 6.00 in the Cambridge Checkpoint exam session in May 2022. Students sat the Cambridge Checkpoint exams in English, Mathematics and Science in English. This allowed our students to complete grade 8 with international certificates in English, Mathematics and Science from Cambridge Assessment: International Education.
The top students for the year are Kaloyan Obretenchev, who achieved maximum Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint scores of 6.00 in English, 6.00 in mathematics and 6.00 in natural sciences; Christina Julia Gueorgiev 6.00 in English and 6.00 in mathematics; Iva Spasova 6.00 in English and 6.00 in mathematics; Simon Atkinson 6.00 English and 6.00 Maths; Iliya Ivanov 6.00 in English and 6.00 in mathematics; Doriana Karpacheva and Victoria Vassileva – with excellent results 6.00 in English and very good results in mathematics. Excellent grades 6.00 in English were also achieved by Stefan-Alexander Kisimov, Nikolay Valkov, Ivan Dimitrov, Christian Mihailov, Chanel Gencheva, Said Ibraimov, Yoan Kopetsky, Arnav Acev, Emil Svetoslavov, Daria Spasova, Emma Panayotova, Yana Yankova, Dimitar Nanovski and Vladislav Angelov.

We congratulate the teachers who encouraged and prepared the students for the international exams. The Cambridge Checkpoint English exams consisted of listening, reading, grammar and writing components. In English language (grammar) we have 26 excellent grades, the best performers being Iva Spasova, Ivan Dimitrov, Ilia Ivanov, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Christina Georgiev, Nikolay Valkov, Christian Mihailov, Victoria Vassileva, Stefan-Alexander Kisimov, Said Ibraimov, Simon Atkinson, Chanel Gencheva, Ioan Kopetsky, Arnav Atsev, Daria Spasova, Emil Svetoslavov, Emma Panayotova, Doriana Karpacheva, Yana Yankova, Dimitar Nanovski, Vladislav Angelov, Raya Uzunova, Simona Tsoneva, Momchil Nikolov, Raya Boyanova, Miroslava Krumova.
In English (listening) the top performers were Simon Atkinson, Chanel Gencheva, Yoan Kopetsky, Arnav Atsev, Yana Yankova, Victoria Vassileva, Stefan-Alexander Kisimov, Iva Spasova, Ivan Dimitrov, Iliya Ivanov, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Christina Georgiev, Nikolay Valkov, Christian Mihailov, Said Ibraimov, Momchil Nikolov, Daniel Deninsky.
In English language (reading), the best performers were Chanel Gencheva, Yoan Kopetsky, Arnav Atsev, Yana Yankova, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Daria Spasova, Emil Svetoslavov, Emma Panayotova, Doriana Karpacheva, Viktoria Vasileva, Stefan-Alexander Kisimov, Iva Spasova, Ivan Dimitrov, Iliya Ivanov, Christina Georgiev, Nikolay Valkov, Christian Mihailov, Simon Atkinson, Vladislav Angelov, Anita Bozhkova, Teodora Dimitrova, Ivana Lyaeva, Denis Ivanov, Dimitar Nanovski.
In English language (writing), the top marks belong to Emil Svetoslavov, Simon Atkinson, Said Ibraimov, Stefan-Alexander Kisimov, Iliya Ivanov, Nikolay Valkov, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Dimitar Nanovski, Ralitsa Kiopcheva, Raya Uzunova, Sriikrishna Garje, Ivan Dimitrov, Yoan Kopetsky, Doriana Karpacheva, Victoria Vasileva, Iva Spasova, Christian Mihailov, Chanel Gencheva and Martin Ivanov.
In Cambridge Checkpoint Mathematics the top students with the highest results were Simon Atkinson, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Iva Spasova, Iliya Ivanov, Christina Georgiev and Doriana Karpacheva.
The math exams included components in algebra, geometry, and data handling. Simon Atkinson, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Iva Spasova, Christina Georgiev, Viktoria Vasileva and Iliya Ivanov performed best in the Mathematics component (algebra).
In Mathematics (Geometry) the top performers were Simon Atkinson, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Iva Spasova, Christina Georgiev, Viktoria Vasileva and Iliya Ivanov
In Mathematics (Data Handling) the top performing students were Simon Atkinson, Kaloyan Obretenchev, Iva Spasova and Doryana Karpacheva.
In Science (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) the top results belong to Kaloyan Obretenchev, who achieved full marks 6.00 in Biology, 6.00 in Physics and 6.00 in Chemistry.
Our students achieved their Cambridge Checkpoint certificates at a special ceremony at school.
Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint is an academic program for secondary education adopted by many prestigious international schools around the world.
