Zlatarski International School of Sofia accepts applications to grades 5, 6 and 7 for September 2021. The School has been approved by Cambridge Assessment International Education to offer its world-leading Cambridge lower secondary programme for students aged 11-14.

Registration for the exam:
Candidates register at the school by submitting an application form for sitting the exam, signed by the student and the parent. In addition, a copy of the student’s results are submitted – first page and page with marks from term one. The School provides sample exam papers at registration.
Open days are designed for candidates to Zlatarski International School and their parents. You will learn about specific aspects of the educational process at the school, the subjects in the Cambridge Secondary, IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme, extracurricular activities, preparation for world universities, requirements of the school of its students and the admissions criteria and dates. Students and parents will attend short taster sessions, will learn about the results of our students, will have the opportunity to talk to current students and teachers in different subjects, and they will have the opportunity to look through the textbooks and study guides we use at Zlatarski School.
Preparation for the admissions exam:
The School organises preparation sessions for the admissions exam in the form of consultations. Consultations are open to all candidates and are not charged additionally. Participation in the preparation for the admissions exam takes place after registering for the sessions on application at the school and it is required for all students.
The admissions exam is designed according to the material studied at school and it takes 1.5 hours. The exam consists of the following components:

Announcement of results and the status of candidates: approved, approved under condition, not approved, based on the the ranking of candidates and the approval of the admission committee. The ranking of candidates is based on: the results of the three exam components, overall result (first term or completed grade), the meeting with the admissions committee.
Meetings with the Admissions Committee:
The School organises individual meetings with candidates and their parents. The aim is to establish the academic strengths and the motivation of students. Students applying to Zlatarski School admit and share the values, found in the School’s Mission; aim at achieving high academic results; expresses a willingness to participate actively in school life and aims to contribute to the School’s development as an international educational institution; shows readiness to become a member of the international community as a student at Zlatarski School. Meetings with the admissions committee are scheduled with the admissions office at registration.
Enrolment takes place within the set deadlines at the School with:
– Document for completed year (gradebook or certificate for completed grade)
– 4 pictures (document format)
– medical card
– paid first installment and a signed contract for tuition, after agreeing with the School Rules and Procedures
From 1 September the School organises an English course for those students needing extra English classes.
