Opening ceremony for the 2019/2020 academic year 16.09.2019, 9:30 am

Dear parents, students,

 

The first school day for the academic year at Zlatarski International School is September 16th, 2019. The official ceremony will begin at 9:30 am. All students should be dressed in official clothing (dark trousers/skirts, white shirts and dark shoes). After the ceremony, students and their class teachers would attend to the administrative work for the beginning of the school year, students will receive their textbooks, as well as the requested school uniforms. The school day is expected to finish around  2pm.

Transportation:

During the day, parents who have requested school transportation, should confirm with representatives from the transportation company the exact time and address where their children will be picked up from.

The school transportation will start from September 17th.

 

Additional information:

Additional uniforms could be purchased from the school cafeteria, until we run out of stock.

 

All Students:

For all students at Zlatarski International School, class lists will be available at the front entrance of the school. Please use them to join your class and class teacher and gather in the backyard, where the ceremony will take place.

Personal Medical Record

On 17.09 (Tuesday) all students from 5th to 12th grade should present their Personal Medical Record from the GP to their class teachers. It should include information about: all immunizations until now; specific illnesses and allergies, document from a medical committee if the student should not attend PE classes.

For all students in Grade 11, the school year starts on Tuesday, September 10th, at 9:00 am with the IB Retreat, which will be held at the gym. On September 10th and 11th you will get acquainted with the IB Regulations and Zlatarski International School requirements for IB students. Teachers will present in short their disciplines, the requirements for SL/HL subjects and grading criteria. Students will receive handouts for each subject, as well as an internal calendar with deadlines for internal assessments and projects. Students registered for IB Mathematics undergo an obligatory training for the use of graph calculators. Students registered for IB Biology will have to follow an intensive physics course for the Bulgarian programme. All students are involved in extracurricular activities and create an individual CAS profile in the ManageBac platform. At the end of the retreat, every student signs a contract that they will follow the rules and regulations of the IB programme. Attendance is mandatory!

 

NB! Please, bring any remaining medical and educational documents to the Administrative office at the school following the ceremony.
