17.05.2013 Zlatarski School students attend Model United Nations
Zlatarski School’s students continue the tradition of attending international MUN (Model United Nations) events.
Once again, in February 2013, a group of our students–Alexander Mantov, Cagan Baser, Danail Ugrinov, Elitsa Altimirska, Lidiya Bozadzhieva, Lyuboslava Kehayova, Maria Georgieva, Maria Moskova, Milena Tsankarska, Patricia Kostadinova, Peter Dimitrov, Peter Tzvetanov, Sofia Karaboikova, Yoana Ilieva and Yvette Atanassova (a record 15-strong)–took active part in the regular ACMUN event, hosted by the Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, Greece. The group was supervised by Dr. Boris Todorov (teacher in history) and Nina Georgieva (teacher in Bulgarian literature).
Over three days our delegates, representing Argentina and Finland, together with their peers from over ten countries, speaking on behalf of more than sixty different governments, proposed and opposed, debated, built and dissolved alliances, co-wrote, co-edited and co-signed draft resolutions on problems ranging from robot combatants, through ethnic conflicts and territorial changes, through child trafficking, chip implants and underwater archeological heritage.
There were hot exchanges, subtle intrigue, solid defense of universal justice, but even more: fun, smiles, fashion and social networking.
Soon the growing group of MUN-ers will find a new place to develop the skills, styles and strategies.
