Viva Voce: Presentations of the Extended Essays of our 12 graders
On October 18, our 12th-grade IB students presented their Extended Essays during the annual Viva Voce session. Among the literary works that have been chosen for this year’s research are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Green Mile by Stephen King, The Portrait of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde, Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and even the animated TV series Rick and Morty. In a few minutes, the students had to explain why they had chosen their literary work, what problems they would be discussing, and they had to show their schoolmates from Grade 11 that the Extended Essay is a wonderful opportunity for each student to explore topics and questions that fascinate them personally. This is what Viva Voce (lat.) actually means – word of mouth, as this is the best way to share what we know with people around us.
