Month of Cyrillic alphabet and Bulgarian culture at Zlatarski International School
2013 is proclaimed by UNESCO as the year of Sts Cyril and Methodius. Inspired by these two brothers and the upcoming national holiday 24.05, the month of May was celebrated as the month of Bulgarian language and culture at Zlatarski International School. The events, organised at the school, included the following:
• Olympiad in language competency for 8 grade students, which took place on 22.04
• The Sts brothers Cyril and Methodius and their work – student art work
• Quiz in ancient Bulgarian literature for 9 grades, devoted to the writings of the Middle Ages in Bulgaria, which took place on 16.05
• „Zdravei versus Здравей – the use of cyrillic alphabet in the Internet age’ – a creative literature task, performed by 10 graders.
• Historical investigations on the Bulgarian Middle Ages – 11 graders
The students who achieved the highest results were awarded on 16.05
• Olympiad in language and culture:

• 1 place – Martin Kirilov (8b class)
• 2 place – Michelle Serova (8c class); Christo Shotev (8c class)
• 3 place – Elitsa Zafirova (8a class); Maria Kostova (8c class)
• The Sts brothers Cyril and Methodius and their work – student art work: Coordinator Mrs R. Jordanova, teacher of arts:
• 1 place for the wonderful picture of Maria Kostova and the incredible works of Gergana Negovanska and Mila Dakova.
• 2 place for the pictures of Alexandra Savcheva and Antoaneta Atanasova
• „Zdravei versus Здравей – the use of cyrillic alphabet in the Internet age’ – a creative literature task, performed by 10 graders.

• 1 place for Mihaela Vodenicharova, 10 a class
• Historical investigations on the Bulgarian Middle Ages – 11 graders
• 1 place for Alexander Kostadinov from 11 IB c class
• 2 place for Maria Georgieva from 11 IB b class
• 3 place for Mina Dobreva from 11 IB c class
Additional awards go to: Iva Mandeva from 11ІВd class, Patricia Kostadinova from 11ІВb class, Nicole Belenska from 11ІВс class, Julia Jessy from 11ІВd class.
All students, who participated in the events receive certificates.
