The new academic year started at Zlatarski International School
On 16 September for the 19th consecutive year Zlatarski School opened its doors to welcome the new students. More than 300 students are currently enrolled at Zlatarski. Official guests were:
– Mrs Gergana Passy – Member of the 39 and 40 Parliament, deputy minister of foreign affairs between 2004 – 2006. In 2007 she was Minister for European Affairs. She is a mother of an 8th grader at Zlatarski School.
– Mr Solomon Passy – Minister of Foreign Affairs between 2001 and 2005; Founder of the Atlantic club in Bulgaria and his honorary president; author of academic papers in international journals.
– Mrs Antoaneta Grigorova – senior expert Social Studies and Citizenship at the Regional Educational Inspectorate, Sofia.
– Mr Dimitar Todorov – grandson of the patron of the School – Professor Vassil Zlatarski
– Mrs Svetla Zlatarski – parent of future graduate of Zlatarski School, a descendant of the Zlatarski family.
Letters of congratulation were also received from Mts Nadya Mladenova, head of the cabinet of the Minister of Education.
For the spirit at the event contributed the school choir group, led by Mr Plamen Stefanov, who performed “Otiva si liatoto, idva esenta’ by Mary Boys Band and ‘100 godini’ by D2.
In her address to all students Mrs Kardasheva, Head of School, advised 8 graders to find new friends and an environment in which they will flourish; her message to the 9, 10 and 11 graders was that education is a long process of overcoming difficulties and personal achievement, and to the 12 graders she wished a successful year, high results and happy graduation.
