Maturi 2024: Top results in the Bulgarian National Diploma and Exams

66% of the students from the Class of 2024 of Zlatarski International School are graduating with excellent national diplomas with marks over 5.50 (out of 6.00). The average results in 2024 from the national diploma for our students is 5.58 (out of 6.00).

Graduates of Zlatarski International School, following the Bulgarian national programme, in the top 10 this year are: Kalina Koynova (6.00), Ivet Apostolova (6.00), Alexandrina Petkova (6.00), Ira-Maria Vodenska (6.00), Lamitta Basha (6.00), Atanas Dimitrov (5.99), Borislav Grebenarov (5.98), Nicol Dimitrova (5.99), Daniel Zlatev (5.93), Jizel Gencheva (5.94).

In 2024, 47% of the students at Zlatarski International School achieved excellent scores of over 5,50 in the English language matura and 73% achieved a very good mark of 5.00 and over. In the Bulgarian language and literature matura 20% of the students achieved scores of over 5,50 and 57% got a result of 5.00 and over. Many of our students do not have Bulgarian as their first language, but having lived in Bulgaria and following the Bulgarian national programme, they attempt the Bulgarian matura and we are proud of their achievements.

Perfect Scores

In 2024, graduates of the School achieved 3 perfect scores 6.00 (out of 6.00) in the national matura exams. This is an exceptional result. Ivana Ivanova from the Class of 2024 achieved a perfect score 6.00 (out of 6.00) in English. Niya Yordanova also achieved a perfect score of 6.00 in the English matura. Ivet Apostolova achieved a perfect score of 6.00 in the matura in Bulgaria language and literature.  

In 2024 five of our graduates achieved perfect scores of 6.00 (out of 6.00) in their school diplomas. These are: Kalina Koynova (6.00), Ivet Apostolova (6.00), Alexandrina Petkova (6.00), Ira-Maria Vodenska (6.00), Lamitta Basha (6.00). With these results Zlatarski School ranks among the leading schools in the country for a consecutive year.

Top 10 results in the English language matura
The students in the top ten of the English language matura for 2024 are: Ivana Ivanova (6.00), Niya Yordanova (6.00), Alexandrina Petkova (5.98), Nicol Dimitrova (5.98), Chavdav Slavov (5.96), Kalina Koynova (5.96), Ira-Maria Vodenska (5.96), Christopher Abrashev (5.93), Anna Walker (5.86), Daniel Zlatev (5.86), Kaloyan Kostadinov (5.82), Karina Jeliazkova (5.80), Niya Petrova (5.77).

Top 10 results in the Bulgarian language and literature matura
In the top 10 for 2024 in Bulgarian language and literature matriculation exam are: Ivet Apostolova (6.00), Kalina Koynova (5.86), Jizel Gencheva (5.75), Anna Walker (5.70), Borislav Grebenarov (5.68), Iulia Ioncheva (5.68), Karina Jeliazkova (5.63), Bozhidara Halhulova (5.59), Maya Parvanova (5.56), Niya Petrova (5.54).

Top Student Success:

Ivana Ivanova from the Class of 2024 achieved a perfect score 6.00 (out of 6.00) in English. She is admitted to study Architecture at Loughborough University, United Kingdom.

Niya Yordanova also achieved a perfect score of 6.00 in the English matura.

Ivet Apostolova achieved a perfect score of 6.00 in the matura in Bulgaria language and literature and a perfect score 6.00 in her Bulgarian diploma and 5.73 in her English matura exam. She received a 6 in her IB HL English certificate. She was admitted to study Medicine at Hamburg University, Germany.

Atanas Dimitrov achieved a Bulgarian diploma with 5.99 (out of 6.00). He achieved 5.75 in his English matura exam and 5.17 in his Bulgarian matura. He achieved the outstanding 38 points in his bilingual IB Diploma, achieving 7 in Physics and 7 in Chemistry. He is admitted to study Mechanics at ETH Zurich, Switzerland;

Kalina Koynova achieved 6.00 in her Bulgarian diploma. She will be studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at CEU, Austria;

Nicol Dimitrova achieved a Bulgarian diploma with 5.99 (out of 6.00). She achieved 5.98 in her English matura exam and 5.20 in her Bulgarian matura. She achieved the outstanding 38 points in her bilingual IB Diploma. She will be studying Computer Science at University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom;

Ira-Maria Vodenska achieved 6.00 in her Bulgarian diploma. She will be studying Economics and Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands

Graduating students from the Class of 2024, in addition to the state matriculation exams, sat international externally assessed exams leading to International Baccalaureate diplomas and certificates and the results will be published in early July. As early as the 10th grade students of Zlatarski International School sit the Cambridge International GCSE exams in English, Mathematics in English, History in English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry in English and Information Technology to help students compare their knowledge with peers from international schools around the world. The success of our graduates from Class 2024 is due to the joint efforts and purposeful work of students, teachers and parents.
