Harry Potter in English Literature classes for our 6-graders
In their English Literature class, our 6th-graders are studying something very exciting! Would you like a hint? In addition to alliteration, contrast, compound adjectives and basic techniques for character introduction, the students are learning about magic wands, spells, potions, post owls, quidditch, and muggles. That’s right – the book is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and this week we met the first characters of the book – the Dursley family.
The students are enthralled by the story of the young wizard and have even read the whole book, while the biggest fans are already proud owners of their own magic wands and have even received their Hogwarts letters.
Easy to grasp, enjoyable and related to their everyday learning. This is English Literature for our 6-graders.
